Traffic Calming

Traffic Calming - a series of measures to improve road safety for pedestrians and cyclists

A key element of the Neighbourhood Plan was to introduce traffic calming measures to make the roads within Drayton safer for pedestrians and cyclists.

A Working Group was established by the Parish Council to examine suitable traffic calming measures. In June 2021 the Group agreed a prioritised list of measures to be implemented which included new Pedestrian crossings, raised platforms, new sections of Pavement and safety measures for pedestrians / cyclists.

We are reliant upon Oxfordshire County Council (OCC) for the design and implementation of these measures. Following delays caused by OCC, progress is now being made on the high priority new Pedestrian Crossings.
